Tomorrow's Meeting

Hey Minions!  So, for our meeting tomorrow, Kelcie and Rebecca have a few things they want to go over, but other than that, we're partying.  So, Steven and Scott are scheduled for the treat and beverage respectively, but everyone is welcome to bring in a treat or beverage.  Also, we'll be having a White Elephant gift exchange, so bring something $5 and under (and we won't judge if you re-gift) already wrapped.

Also, Haley will be leaving us, so this Friday meeting is also our farewell to Haley.

Thanks for being one of the best teams I've ever had!  You were all excellent Minions.

Friday Meeting, take 2

Hey Minions!  Here are some things that we'll be going over in tomorrow's meeting:

1) Graduation Deadlines--> Students need to have EVERYTHING completed by November 23 in order for it to count for fall graduation.  If a student completes the course after the 23rd, we can no longer guarantee the course will be posted in time for graduation.

2) Orion calls--> You should have already signed up for a time and completed this.  If you haven't, sign up for a time ASAP and work with Kelcie so you can get this done.

3) Proctor notes--> Make sure you ALWAYS go over the notes in a proctor's file.  Sometimes, learning centers are not approved for university level courses, so you always need to make sure!  We've run into some problems with this in the past.

4)  Military Tuition Assistance--> We CAN accept tuition assistance from those in the Army, National Guard, or the Air Force.  We CANNOT accept tuition assistance forms from the Navy, US Coastguard, or the Marines.

5)  Extractions--> Make sure you're getting them done in a timely manner.

6)  Requesting exams--> International exams CANNOT be sent express.  There's is a $20 international airmail fee associated with international exams (which also includes Canada).  When you are requesting an international exam, mark it as you would an exam being sent one way express, but remember to include the country in the address.  Also, we can't send expressed exams to FPO/APO or PO boxes.

7) Accommodation exams--> We enter in the proctor information but we don't request the exams.  We send an email to Ariel Cannon in testing to get the exams with accommodations sent out.  It can take a few extra days in order to put everything together, depending on the accommodations the student has.

Also, Erik has treat duty and Jordan has beverage duty.

Thanks for being awesome, Minions!

Friday Meeting

Hey Minions!  Once again, it's your friendly, neighborhood TL, Malia.  Just a few things of business to note:

For tomorrow, Kelcie and Rebecca are in charge of our meeting.  We'll be doing Migration Training.  After the training, I'll post some recap notes from the meeting so we have something to look at.

Also, please go over the notes that I posted last week for some review!  I'd also like everyone to remember to read over any notes on a proctor's file before requesting an exam.  There've been some problems because we haven't been going over the notes, so this is important!!!  I'll be quizzing you guys next week to make sure you've been paying attention.  The quiz will either be part of a training game, or will be posted on the blog.  So, make sure you pay attention to the posts!

Also, make sure you're doing your extractions!  After extractions are complete, we'll have a stupendous End of Extraction Fiesta.  I will make a special treat for ya'll if we're victorious over extractions.  So, keep that in mind while you go through your courses.

Thanks for being awesome, Minions!

Malia

I'm an English major (with an emphasis in Literature/Creative Writing) and I'm minoring in Humanities.  I'm a student by day and Super-Nerd by night, so I regularly hang out with Spider-Man, Deadpool, Wolverine, and Captain America .  I love to play video games and my ideal afternoon is one spent reading an excellent work of literary art.  I have multiple favorite movies, so my top three movies are: The Mummy, The Dark Knight, and Arsenic and Old Lace (followed closely by Some Like it Hot).  If you haven't seen any of these movies, then you fail.  I have a pretty eclectic taste in music, yet I can't stand country.  I love long walks on the beach, laser tag, and singing.

My ambition is to become a best-selling, wold famous, and grossly rich novelist.

So far, the coolest thing I've done over the summer is visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  The butterbeer was delicious.

This message brought to you by your friendly neighborhood TL.

My name is Malia, and I approve this message.

Fin.

Courtney

   So, my name is Courtney and my last initial is
             'W.'
       I'm an Elementary
                   Education Major.
    My parents are on a mission in Ghanna, and
            they're coming back in January!
     I just got married in August to James (better
             remember the name!) in the Logan Temple.
      I used to be younger, but then I wasn't.
        I'm kind of partial
                                                                  to green.
I play piano, sax, and I sing...with VERY large groups. Kind of like University Chorale!
 I think we should have a cheer, and this color reminds me of granny smith apples for some reason....

I can't go on/I'll go on

I am Erik.  I am from Sacramento, CA but my family recently relocated to South Jordan, UT...which I like because I can go home and eat real food.  I'm studying communications....looking into either Public Relations or Advertising....unless my post-modern electric/crunk band takes off at some point (we almost have an original song).

I served my mission in Independence Missouri....the only mission with a future.

I really, really, really, really like Star Wars.  I'm saving money to buy a storm trooper uniform...just $600 more to go.  My favorite food is mint chocolate chip ice cream.  I enjoy NERF GUN WARS and holding hands.

Someone once said I have Peter Pan syndrom....that may or may not be true

Buenos Hellos

Yo fools, whadup.

I am Jordan. That's my name as well.

Jordan hails from the Great Northwest, where all the greats are from (see Bill Gates, John Stockton, Jimi Hendrix, Kenny G, Kenny Loggins, John Elway, Bing Crosby......Bruce Lee is buried there).

He also enjoys a good game of basketball and most other sports. In his free time he sometimes grows  a manly mustache...it's coming when you least expect it.

I will be studying the intricacies of the business world in the much acclaimed Marriott School of Business, unless they reject me and my ways.

I'm tall, dark, and handsome....that's dark hair, not skin....and I guess it's not that dark. So....I'm tall....and handsome....looks like I'm out of things to say.

Team Meeting and Extraction

Hey Minions!  It's me, you're lovely, effervescent TL, Malia.

So, a couple things.  I wanted to post a brief rundown of what we'll be going over during this Friday's meeting.  Come prepared with questions and suggestions!

(This is added simply because it's funny.)
MEETING:

1) Orion Training-->I want to make sure that everyone's comfortable with this, so I'll be bringing the Orion worksheets we did this past week.  Also, everyone should have employee rights.  If you don't, email Kelcie ASAP.

2) Requesting exams--> I've run into a few problems with this (and we've all gotten quite a few emails about this as well).  For International mail, we charge them a $20 fee and mark the exam as going one-way express.  We also need to make sure we include the name of the Country in the address.  This CANNOT be sent regular mail or two-way express.  Also, we CANNOT send exams express to APO/FPO or PO Boxes.

3) Requesting exams with accommodations

4) Extraction--> I know we've been getting a lot of sparks and emails about this.  Don't panic.  If you haven't gotten an email from me about extraction, you're free to do other things.  I've broken up the courses that we need to complete into sections that I've sent to members of the team to complete.  Unless you get an email from me with an assignment, don't worry about it.

Those who should be working on Extraction this week (today and Friday):
Lisa--> Complete
Courtney--> Pending
Peter--> Pending
Haley--> Complete
 Malia--> Complete
Ashley--> Complete
Jordan--> Complete
Erik--> Complete

That's all for now!  Make sure that you get the extractions done ASAP!

Thanks for being awesome Minions!

Email/ACT Code Extraction Project

Hey guys! Just so you have all the info in one spot, here's what you need to know about this project.

As you (hopefully) read in the email from Kelcie, we're needing to extract ACT codes and email addresses from RS. If you are ever proctoring, this is what you should be doing. Make sure you've got the assingment before you begin proctoring so you know what you're doing. For everyone else, we should be working on this project between calls/emails.

Additional information from Malia:::
When she sends out the assignments, we'll all have scheduled times to work on the extraction while being on not ready. After your shift, you'll need to email Darren with ACD adjustment--tell him you were on not ready in order to work on the project.

If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask! (Not me...preferably Malia haha!)

-Lisa

Halloweenie

Alright. So here are the pictures I took of our highly excellent and sugary Halloween party. If you guys have any more please upload them. Woo!

Feel free to follow the blog if you've got your own blog. I'll email you guys the loggin information for the blog so you can all post too if you wish.

Any suggestions send them my way! Happy Halloween!
